Meet the Crew: Kyle
Welcome to our meet the crew series! We’ve been expanding a lot over the past couple of months and wanted to take some time to introduce ourselves again. This blog series will be a quick introduction to all of the faces you’ll see at our events, trips, and around the Beyond Boundaries office.
Meet Kyle, co-founder of Beyond Boundaries and lover of the outdoors. Kyle and Shep worked together to create Beyond Boundaries 8 years ago with the goal of making the outdoors more accessible to everyone. Over the years Kyle has helped build Beyond Boundaries as a facilitator and supporter.
1. What do you go by? Kyle.
2. What are your pronouns? He/Him.
3. How old are you? 36.
4. Where did you go to college? Radford University.
5. Where did you grow up? Mechanicsville, Va. I’m still close with a lot of people I met in elementary school.
6. Favorite outdoor activity? This has changed many times over the years. I would say right now, hiking/walking with my kids and dogs. Camping is right up there as well.
7. What's your guilty pleasure? True crime podcasts. I’m obsessed.
8. Favorite type of BB trip? Any time it’s a person’s first time at trying something new.
9. Favorite band? Very tough. Billy Strings, Goose, Tyler Childers…
10. Favorite food? Tacos!
11. How did you get involved with BB? Shep and I wanted to open up the joy of outdoor adventure to any and everyone.
12. Why does BB's mission resonate with you? It’s very simple. Everyone should have access to outdoor activities.
13. Fun fact about yourself? I love to cook.
14. What does adventure mean to you? It means doing something that makes you happy, but can also challenge you at the same time.
15. Favorite animal? My dog Murphy.
16. Favorite place you've traveled to? South Africa.
